Carriage House Dorset, DT2

about

Originally a Victorian Carriage house, this property was converted into a home in the 1950s but had fallen into disrepair until the new owners purchased it in February 2016 and began a complete renovation process.

The main room in the house is the open plan kitchen/dining/sitting room. It’s in the middle section of the house and is a huge space at 16 metres in length, 6 metres wide, and 4 metres high. It’s a really amazing and unusual space with a spiral staircase with galleried landing at one end. The kitchen is a particularly beautiful feature, with a large square island unit with dark painted cupboards and a solid marble countertop.

The main space is bathed in natural light with large Georgian style sash windows at ground level and circular windows at the higher level to the front of the property.

In the remaining parts of the house are two further sitting rooms, six bedrooms a large utility room and a huge, modern office space that is in the former garage/carriage storage area.

Plenty of parking on site. Shoot and stay considered.
