The fruit market regeneration scheme in Humber Street has received the accolade of the best street in Britain.
Hull’s hippest street is now officially one of the UK’s trendiest thoroughfares.

Eight years ago Humber Street was full of rotting empty fruit market warehouses and facing an uncertain future.
Today it’s ripe with bars, restaurants, boutique shops and art galleries.
That transformation has now been officially recognised after it picked up a top accolade at this week’s Academy of Urbanism’s annual awards, winning The Great Street category.
Humber Street was shortlisted in April this year and a team of experts from the academy visited the city in September.
Previous winners have included Hope Street in Liverpool, Marylebone High Street in London and Buchanan Street in Glasgow.
Hull was announced the winner of UK City of Culture 2017 in 2013. The award is given every four years to a city that demonstrates the belief in the transformational power of culture.
The evolving City Plan aims to bring the whole community together to make Hull a place that is brimming with culture, enterprise and opportunity.
One part of the evolving city plan is The Fruit Market which Humber Street is a huge part of, a vibrant area known for art galleries and music and performance venues and is an emerging digital hub which also forms part of the Old Town Conservation Area > > > www.fruitmarkethull.co.uk
The Fruit Market will draw visitors to Hull’s waterfront area and will ensure a sustainable long term legacy for the city far beyond 2017. The programme includes new commercial and residential development as well as an extensive refurbishment programme bringing warehouses and historic buildings back into use.
Shootfactory played a huge part of the programme of works been carried out within The Fruit Market, giving life back to one of the disused warehouses on Humber Street. After signing the contract on the “The Warehouse” this time last year and our 4 week re-development program, we finally moved our Northern based office into our new studio space.
