more details
The house was originally built in 1700s as a Cotswold Farmhouse, with significant additions in the Victorian era. The result is a very generous and characterful home, the rooms all have great volume; high ceilings, lovely proportions, and plenty of windows, bringing in lots of light, which is very unusual for a farmhouse in this region.
The house spans to over 8000 sq ft (excluding outbuildings) and the ground floor comprises a large kitchen, built in an orangery style, so the proportions of this room are wonderful, and it is always filled with natural light. There is a generous pantry open to the kitchen through arches on either side and outside the kitchen is a beautiful walled garden. The rest of the ground floor includes a large laundry room, library room with cloakroom, two large hallways, a study, and a sitting room.
The first floor comprises a very large main bedroom suite with marble shower, stunning vanities and a free-standing bath, plus beautiful built-in joinery. A large child’s bedroom with Scandinavian bunkbed (complete with slide), a shower room and large guest bedroom. The second floor also has wonderful proportions and houses two very large bedrooms with bathrooms and an office (pictures of this area to come soon).
Outside there is a gravel driveway with plenty of parking, a charming original Cotswold Stone farm building, a garage with good storage as well as an acre of gardens; herbaceous borders, raised beds filled with cut flowers and vegetables, a decorative rose arch, orchard, and paddock.
