Van Gogh London, SW9

Van Gogh House is a Grade II listed four-storey Georgian terraced location house in which Van Gogh lived during his stay in London in 1873-4.

This London location house was beautifully renovated by architect Livia Wang in 2012-18 and now hosts exhibitions and artist residencies as well as being open for venue hire.

The house was renovated according to William Morris’ principles of ‘conservation, not restoration’ and many of the original features have been repaired or reinstated. The walls, floorboards and fireplaces have been conserved with the help of students from the Camberwell conservation course and the cracks in the stone and faded wallpapers tell a story of the house.

An atmospheric place for a photoshoot or a short film perhaps, the house also boasts a modern kitchen to the rear as well as a purpose built garden art studio.
