Zinc house Norfolk, PE13

about

Built in 2012 this property won the RIBA East of England award in 2014 for best new building and best residential building. It is a Norfolk house paying respect to local styles and materials but at the same time unashamedly modern, making extensive use of glass to maximise views of the landscape and with a zinc roof.

It sits in an acre of garden surrounded by trees and including croquet lawn.

The house is approximately 5000sq ft over two main floors. The first floor has a large kitchen/ dining/ reception room semi divided by a two way fire place and bookshelves creating three separate areas whilst remaining open plan. It has sliding glass to both sides onto decking terraces overlooking the garden to one side or with stunning views down the creak across the marshes and towards the North Sea on the other.

There are two external terraces, one the entire length of the main floor with seating all along looking out to the South over the garden and one dining terrace with outdoor kitchen.

There are five bedrooms and a gym on the ground floor, two offices and four bathrooms. All the bedrooms open with large glass doors out on to terraces overlooking the garden.

The lower ground entrance lobby is housed on three sides by glass and encloses the stairs.

At lower ground level there is also a two car garage and a large boat store and workshop.

Parking in the driveway for 8 cars. 2.5 hours from central London.
