MALA SURREY, RH2

about

A beautifully restored characterful Victorian cottage location that has been brought back to life after a remodel to work for modern life with a busy family.

A new entrance was created to a cosy practical boot room all painted in Bancha Farrow and Ball (including ceiling and cabinetry) , so no outdoor items need pass into the space of the house. All school bags, coats, shoes, sports gear have a home!

A wonderful family kitchen full of natural light, centred around a French antique dining table which can seat 12. Perfect for all aspects of life and the hub of the home. From homework, crafts, dinner with friends and family! The interior styling is calm and peaceful with a colour pallet of soft muted tones, punctuated by Antiques and layered with textures and fabrics and wonderful different levels of accent lighting.

A snug with a wood burning stove for winter evenings to get cosy! Comfy chairs and chunky throws and cushions all add to create a multi textural space. The William Morris Wallpaper is a nod to the English cottage routes of the house!

The hallway and landings are in a soft paint with a hue of pink which is with a stronger pink on the entrance porch and spindles leading you up the bedrooms! The flooring in the hallway is a square pale terracotta with a nod to our Italian routes and a great twist to the traditional English cottage. Accented with antiques and interesting lighting and a sumptuous peat colour Rose Uniacke Velvet door curtain!

The three bedrooms upstairs are all full of character and currently where my three children room sleep. A pretty girl’s bedroom but most definitely not child centric with a king size bed. The second bedroom is fully panelled and painted in farrow and ball light blue with a double bed and wonderful headboard in Christopher farr fabric and blind in a fab fermoie fabric print. Moving to the little one’s room, a sandberg Wallpaper all over including the wardrobes doors! A sweet metal bed and then a punch of yellow for the soft voile blind!

The bathroom is all marble tiles with different size format tiles employed to add interest, again plenty of  discreet storage to suit family needs and keep the space neat and tidy!

The master bedroom en-suite is an area of zen and calm with lots and lots of storage to keep it clutter free.  Beautiful simon horn bed with cushions in Fox linton Fabric. The ensuite adds a punch of green in the vanity complementing the patterned Maderine stone floor.

The study is all tone on tone with textures from the unnatural flooring carpet and linen curtains, oak for shelves displaying interesting Items and a pop of orange colour in the pale fried lamp made completely of paper!

The Living room is full of different textures, fabrics from Rose Uniacke and Pierre Frey, sofas from Pinch. Original herringbone floor with a large oak Cabinet. Curtains in textured linen in the bay. Layered with wondered lighting and a fabulous pendant from Pinch.

The Kitchen, snug and the living room are all linked outside by a courtyard. Making for a very sociable home in both summer and winter.

Parking for at least 4 cars.
