At Shootfactory, we understand that the right location can transform a collection, elevating its story and bringing out the finer details of craftsmanship. When Andrea Hawkes introduced the Flourish Collection, a celebration of silk, fluidity, and modern femininity, the setting had to be just as graceful. Framlingham Manor, a breathtaking Elizabethan house in 300 acres of untouched Suffolk parkland, became the perfect canvas for this vision.
Framlingham Manor is a house with history, a place where classical beauty meets quiet refinement. Its tall chimneys, mullioned windows, and historic brickwork created a striking contrast to the lightness of hand-painted silk organza and flowing natural silks featured in the Flourish Collection. The grandeur of its wood-panelled interiors and the charm of its surrounding countryside offered a dreamlike quality, aligning seamlessly with the soft romanticism that defines this collection.
The setting had to reflect these values for a designer like Andrea Hawkes, whose ethos is simplicity, quality, and timeless design. Framlingham Manor framed the dresses with a sense of heritage and understated elegance.
Flourish is a collection that celebrates movement and modern femininity. From structured corsetry to fluid, floor-skimming gowns, each piece is designed to highlight natural elegance. Shooting in a historic manor with vast open landscapes allowed the dresses to breathe and flow, capturing their delicate textures in the shifting light of the Suffolk countryside.
Inside, the soft natural light filtering through leaded windows played beautifully against the silken drape of the gowns, emphasising their clean lines and impeccable tailoring. Outside, rolling green fields and winding country paths provided a romantic, open-air backdrop where the gowns could move freely with the breeze.
Much like Framlingham Manor itself, the Flourish Collection balances tradition with modernity. It features classical silhouettes with contemporary touches, such as barely-there straps, high necklines, and structured bodices softened by delicate fabric choices. The dresses feel at home in this historical setting, proving that true craftsmanship, whether in architecture or bridalwear; stands the test of time.
Hand-painted silk organza adds a unique, artistic element to some designs, mirroring the thoughtful detailing in the manor’s carved fireplaces and intricate woodwork. These thoughtful, tactile touches bring depth to both the collection and the setting, creating a cohesive visual narrative that is both modern and enduring.
With its expansive grounds, period details, and timeless elegance, Framlingham Manor provided everything needed to bring the Flourish Collection to life. The house itself holds a sense of quiet luxury, much like Andrea Hawkes’ designs. It was where silk met history, where modern bridalwear found harmony with centuries-old craftsmanship.
At Shootfactory, a location should elevate a collection, not compete with it. This collaboration between Andrea Hawkes and Framlingham Manor is a testament to how setting, design and vision create something truly special.
