Romo Fabrics Ottavia Collection Shoot on Location in Solihull

At Shootfactory, we pride ourselves on providing unique and character-filled locations for creative projects. One of the latest to grace our roster is the Pastel Solihull location—a stunning 19th-century manor house with period detailing and a recently restored interior. It became the perfect setting for Romo Fabrics’ Ottavia Collection, an exquisite range of prints, weaves, and velvets inspired by the natural world.

A Perfect Backdrop for a Luxurious Collection

When Romo Fabrics set out to capture the essence of the Ottavia Collection, it was clear that the setting needed to enhance its artistic inspiration. The collection uses floral motifs, layered textures, and rich, nature-infused palettes. The Pastel Solihull location provided the ideal balance of elegance and history, with its intricate plasterwork ceilings, original wooden flooring, and striking decorative stencilling.

The Ottavia Collection found a natural home within this stately yet contemporary space with soft floral curtains, opulent upholstery, and sumptuous velvets. The grand arched hallways, panelled doors, and carefully restored architectural features harmonised with Romo’s textiles, creating an effortlessly sophisticated setting.

A Harmony of Colour and Texture

The shoot brought the Ottavia Collection to life, highlighting how the fabrics interact with light and shadow—a key design element. From the painterly rose prints to the bold-cut velvet stripes, every piece in the collection speaks of craftsmanship and a deep appreciation for texture.

The seating pieces in multicoloured striped velvets became a focal point, offering a tactile contrast to the soft florals featured in the curtains. The muted pastel tones of the manor’s walls and architectural details created a cohesive, layered aesthetic, ensuring that each shot had warmth and depth.

The terraced formal gardens added an extra dimension, reinforcing the collection’s inspiration drawn from woodlands, botanicals, and painterly landscapes. As natural light filtered through the expansive windows, the fabrics appeared even more vibrant, shifting in tone and texture depending on the angle and illumination.

The Shoot Location

As a Grade II listed manor location, Pastel Solihull brings an element of heritage to any production. Spanning 6,000 square feet over two floors, it offers a variety of backdrops, from ornate reception rooms to a grand galleried hallway.

The choice of original wooden floorboards and Versailles parquet flooring throughout the property helped to anchor the Ottavia Collection’s narrative, one that is both timeless and full of character.

Beyond the interiors, the 1.5-acre garden provided further visual interest, complete with a pergola draped in cream roses, a woodland play area, and a fire pit space, ensuring plenty of opportunities for creative storytelling.
