HEVER BARN KENT, TN8

about

Hever Barn is a 5 bed, 2000 square foot architect designed eco-house location, inspired by the form of a Scandinavian barn. The house runs on 100% renewable energy, and is used primarily as a holiday rental which can comfortably accommodate 14 guests. It sits in the beautiful Kent countryside, just 30 miles from London, has a landscaped 100m garden, off-street parking for 6 cars and an EV charger. There is step-free access throughout the ground floor and side access to the garden/patio doors from the front of the house.

Downstairs are 2 bedrooms, a bathroom and an open plan kitchen/diner with large island, dining table for 14, TV lounge area and vaulted ceiling with huge opening picture window and large built-in banquette seating area in a rust coloured velvet.

Upstairs are two master suites, each distinctly different in style; the first is plaster pink and feminine, and has a mezzanine balcony overlooking the ground floor seating area and garden beyond and the second is dark and masculine with a striking freestanding black bath in the room. Each of these rooms has a shower room, and hotel-style in-room double basin vanity area. On this floor there’s a further family bathroom and the playful dorm room which has 6 x built in bunks, an indoor den/climbing wall and fireman’s pole.

The interior finishes offer a mixture of interesting textures and finishes; floors are either concrete or beautiful wide ash boards, elsewhere you’ll find unfinished pink plaster, micro-cement and terrazzo bathrooms, timber slatted ceilings and walls, and the OSB dorm room.
